Creating AppleScripts

This topic is interesting, yet not for the faint-hearted ;-) Fortunately several AppleScripts are part of the iRed distribution, so you will find some objects for study.

Editing in the Inspector

If you have selected an AppleScript action in the archive or in the list of VRC button actions the AppleScript editor shows up:

New created AppleScripts will get your user name and the actual date as a starting point.

To write syntactical correct scripts iRed features the "Check Syntax" button. Simply click it to get your script checked. If there are errors, these will be shown in the text field, in case of a correct script the key words will be emphasized in bold font as in the screenshot.

The editor area is limited on the inspector, so it may be a good idea to edit the scripts in Apple's ScriptEditor instead and Copy/Paste the script later into iRed's edit view.

To structure the actions in the archive, please enter the name of the targeted application in the text field "Group".
