Even without a RC to learn IR codes from, there is another way to get codes. There is a excellent source at RemoteCentral.com, where thousands of codes are avaliable for download for the famous and expensive Philips Pronto.
How to get the codes from RemoteCentral (a somewhat complicated process) is described in this chapter.
If you have the Pronto code copied onto the clipboard (it is very lengthy!)
open up the Pronto Wizard from the menu item from menu "Tools" or use the shortcut
-P
- The Pronto wizard panel will open up
- Enter the name of a RC and the description of the code to be converted into the input fields
- Paste the Pronto code into the respective input field
- Click on "Convert"
If the IR code could be converted correctly you'll find a respective message on the panel as shown.
Codes starting with "8000" will not be recognized by this version of iRed.
- After converting please "Save" the code
- Now "Close" the panel or click "New", to convert another Pronto code.
